Janet Jackson’s son, Eissa Al Mana, just turned eight years old! On January 3rd, the iconic pop star, known for her love of privacy, shared a rare, touching glimpse into her personal life as she marked this special milestone for her child.
In an Instagram video, Janet lovingly addressed Eissa, saying, “Hi, sweetheart; I just want to say that I’m so proud of you and the young man you’re becoming. You are so creative, you are so kind, you are so loving, and you are really smart.”
She continued, “You’re so talented, [and] you’re very brilliant baby, and I’m so proud of you and proud to be your mama. I love you so much; happy eighth birthday. I love you, baby.”
She simply captioned the video, “Happy birthday baby, I love you!” followed by three emoji’s blowing kisses.
Janet, who shares her son with ex-husband, Wissam Al Mana, opened up in a 2024 interview with The Guardian about why she decided not to have more children.
“The most important thing I’ve done, the biggest thing I’ve done, is become a mother, and it’s had a beautiful impact on my life,” she said. “I wanted to have three children, but thought, ‘I should stop there, that’s probably all I can handle.’ Because you have to give all of yourself, you have to spread the love, and I wouldn’t want any of them to feel left out if I had three. Obviously, you have to work, but you don’t come first any more. Your life completely changes. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Jackson, the youngest of the ten famous Jackson siblings, has been in the limelight for decades as an entertainer. However, the Good Times alum has said that her son will have to wait ten more years before he can join the entertainment industry.
“If that’s what he wants, but I would say that he has to wait until he’s of age and still make sure that’s what he wants to do,” she said in a previous interview with Loose Women. “Whatever you do is very difficult. The industry is very tough, but he would have to wait until he is 18.”
