Halle Bailey and Smokey Robinson appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where they shared details about their upcoming Christmas special, A Motown Christmas, and gave a glimpse into Halle’s life as a mom to her baby boy, Halo.
Halo, whom Halle shares with DDG, celebrate his first birthday just a few days before Christmas.
Halle couldn’t be more excited, saying, “Wow, I think just experiencing his first Christmas. He was born on the 22nd. He’s turning one. And I’m big on ]making sure] there are two celebrations: one for his birthday and one for Christmas.”
And it looks like Halo already knows how to get his mom’s attention. “Oh, he screams ‘Mama’ all day. He knows how to play me all the way,” Halle confessed, laughing.
She previously shared in an Instagram video that Halo has mastered the art of getting what he wants, using his adorable “Mama!” to win her over.
“He knows how to get my attention,” she explained. “Sometimes if he’s crying and I know nothing is wrong, I will just watch him, I’ll look at him and be like ‘You’re OK, you’re OK.’”
But when Halo really wants something, he knows exactly how to get it.
“He says ‘Mama’ every once in a while, but when he wants me to do something for him, he will scream ‘Mama!’ Because when he says it … he realizes I drop what I’m doing,” she explained. “So now he’s saying a lot, lot more. He goes ‘Mama!’”
Meanwhile, Halle and Smokey are gearing up for A Motown Christmas.
The holiday special will celebrate Motown’s legendary music and its lasting impact on American culture. Viewers can expect solo performances, duets, and group medleys featuring a star-studded lineup including Gladys Knight, Andra Day, The Temptations, Jamie Foxx, Ashanti, and many more.
