Meanwhile, Nami is on the brink of a major milestone, as she will turn 16 years old later this month.
Jhené welcomed her daughter on November 19, 2008, with singer O’Ryan, and over the years, she has opened up about the transformative experience of motherhood.
In a past interview with CR Fashion Book, the singer reflected on becoming a mother at a young age, saying, “I never intended to have a baby so young. But as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I was overwhelmed with a new focus and drive. I knew I didn’t want a regular job. I wanted to provide a life for me and my daughter that was beyond myself.”
This determination motivated her to record her first mixtape while pregnant, ultimately leading to a record deal with Def Jam and launching her successful music career.
“Becoming a mother made me focus and connect with who I was and who I wanted to be,” she explained.
Nami has even joined her mother on tour, occasionally taking the stage to perform a song specially written for her. The track, titled “Sing to Me,” appears on Jhené’s second studio album, Trip, released in 2017, and features Nami’s vocals.
In addition to Namiko, Aiko is mom to son, Noah Hasani, whom she welcomed with longtime love Big Sean in November 2022.
