Model and founder of Gurls Talk, Adwoa Aboah, proudly showcased her baby bump at her organization’s first charity gala on June 4, 2024.
Aboah stunned at the inaugural gala wearing a long-sleeve dress that featured a front cutout for her protruding belly. She completed the look with a white clutch, bracelet stacks, and sparkling earrings, while her hair was elegantly pulled back in cornrows.
Gurls Talk, a community-led non-profit, is an online platform where young women can freely discuss issues such as mental health, self-care, and relationships.
Inspired by Aboah’s own experiences overcoming depression, bipolar disorder, and struggles with self-image, Gurls Talk aims to create safe spaces for girls to access mental health resources, share their stories, and support each other.
In a previous interview with People Magazine, Aboah shared her motivations behind establishing her organization.
“I was looking for a self care that wasn’t necessarily involving myself. And by that, I mean I was looking for ways [of] bettering myself without concentrating on myself,” she told PEOPLE.
“Putting my intention into [the] larger topic felt like something that I should do,” Aboah continued. “I knew that my journey was an individual one but it wasn’t one that I could [go through] by myself. I knew that I needed a community of like-minded people.”
Last month, Aboah made headlines when she revealed her pregnancy at the Met Gala, donning a striking red ensemble by H&M that beautifully accentuated her baby bump.
