We first fell in love with the talented actress, Sofia Wylie, as Buffy in the hit Disney series, Andi Mac. She quickly moved on to star in the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The School for Good and Evil, and many other noted movies and television series. Well, now, she can add songstress to her resume as the talented 19-year-old has just released a new song, “Iconic,” which is featured in the Netflix special, My Little Pony special, My Little Pony: Bridlewoodstock.
Wylie is the latest young Disney star who is lending their talent and voice to the My Little Pony universe as Ruby Jubilee. Wylie joins Sofia Carson and Vanessa Hudgens, who both appear in A New Generation. Additionally, Disney face, Kimiko Glenn, also puts in an appearance in the My Little Pony world.
So, just what can fans expect from this new Netflix special, My Little Pony special, My Little Pony: Bridlewoodstock?
Well, according to JustJaredJr.com, here is what fans can expect to see as they tune-in.
In Bridlewoodstock, the Mane 5 try to stage a music festival during Bridlewood’s beautiful Lumi-Bloom, a gorgeous bioluminescent nature event that only happens once a year. Throughout their quest they race to book Equestria’s best and brightest artists, reunite old legends, and grapple with the unicorn legend of voice stealing Troggles.
However, singing and acting are not Wylie’s only Hollywood superpowers. If you remember, it was Wylie’s dance moves that propelled her into the limelight.
Before landing her breakout role, Wylie had already amassed an impressive resume that included dancing with Justin Bieber, at the Radio City Music Hall, on So You Think You Can Dance, and more. In the beginning, Wylie also used her platform in hopes to help boost the careers of other dancers with a YouTube dance series.
Back in 2018, Wylie said in an interview, with Dancespirit.com, that her “…goal is to help dancers get that look that might help them book their next big break. There are so many amazing dancers and sometimes all they need is a chance to be seen.”
Well, Wylie is definitely being seen as well! And we cannot wait to see what she brings us next!
My Little Pony special, My Little Pony: Bridlewoodstock is currently streaming on Netflix. And, “Iconic” is also now available to stream and purchase on all music platforms. The single is as part of the Bridlewoodstock EP.
