Nick Cannon recently had a slip-up while listing his 12 children during an interview with Howard Stern. While attempting to list his children in order of their birthdays, he forgot to mention his daughter Onyx, which Stern promptly corrected him on.
“Ah, no!” the “All That” the Masked Singer host replied. “You know, I did. You threw me off because I was going in order!”
In all, Cannon has 12 children with six different mothers. He has 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; children Golden (6), Rise (6 months), and Powerful (2) with Brittany Bell. Cannon is also a father to twins Zion and Zillion (1) and daughter Beautiful (5 months) with Abby De La Rosa. Alyssa Scott gave birth to his daughter Halo(3 months) and late son Zen. Cannon also has a son named Legendary Love (9 months) with Bre Tiesi and a daughter named Onyx Ice (6 months) with LaNisha Cole.
When Stern pointed out Cannon’s mistake, he joked that he would have “a problem” with his children’s mothers. However, in a recent interview with the Shade Room, Cannon managed to remember all of his children and shared the inspiration behind their unique names.
He explained that Onyx’s mother, LaNisha Cole, had suggested the name and he was on board with it, adding the middle name Ice himself.
“With LaNisha, who is a strong, black woman and loves her chocolate-ness and all that, she had the name Onyx. And I was like, ‘I’m with it. Let’s get it!’” he explained, noting that he came up with the child’s middle name, Ice.
During the interview, Cannon also revealed that he had considered getting a vasectomy due to feeling “pressured by the world.” However, he ultimately decided against it and instead plans to continue expanding his family.
