Introducing Tristyn Naomi Wilds! Tristan “Mack” Wilds and his girlfriend, Christina Hammond, recently shared candids of their baby girl with the public for the first time in honor of ESSENCE magazine’s 50th anniversary.
“It brings Christina and I great joy to introduce our daughter to the world via the historic 50th Anniversary issue of the iconic publication, ESSENCE magazine,” Mack shared with his Instagram fans on Wednesday (May 6). The celebrity father went on to tell his social media followers how ESSENCE has changed the scope for black women over the years.
“ESSENCE helped change the way the world experiences the multifaceted beauty and dynamic experiences of black women in America,” Tristan wrote. “Today, our daughter joins the legacy of icons who have graced these pages. Get ready to show the world your light … my love, Tristyn Naomi Wilds.”

Tristan “Mack” Wilds and his girlfriend shared the news of their expectancy with fans last December. “Serious moment,” Mack shared in a candid Instagram post. “Earlier this year, I was in a really dark place. Sh*t, honestly? I’d been there for a while,” the celebrity admitted.

“I was just letting life take me wherever she may,” Mack said. “But I told God I needed a light. I needed a sign that I was supposed to be here, and that my presence here on earth was needed … Heard ju (sic), God. Thank you for this.”
When reflecting on the dark moment that preceded his daughter’s conception, Wilds tells ESSENCE, “It just made me feel like I had to be a lot stronger. I had a lot of growing up and strengthening to do to be ready to take care of this little one,” the celebrity father explains.

“There’s a certain tenderness when you’re raising a girl,” Tristan continues. “You still have to be tough, but ultimately, when you’re raising a girl, you’re raising the closest thing that we have to God.”
