Tia Mowry is on the cover of this month’s edition of Working Mother. The celebrity mom tells the media source about her life as a mom and how she and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry, stay connected despite their busy schedules.

“Tamera lives in Napa, and she works and I work,” Tia explains. “But after these passings [of our grandmother and neice], we realized how short life is. So she comes over every Sunday. We get our nails done, we drink wine, she sees the kids.”
Tia Mowry and her husband, Cory Hardrict, welcomed their youngest child, Cairo Tiahna Hardrict, last May. The couple celebrated their daughter’s birthday four weeks before Tia stopped breastfeeding Cairo.
“It didn’t last as long [with Cree] because I didn’t have the support—from my working peers, my bosses,” Tia says of her experiencing with nursing her son several years ago. “Also, I didn’t have the community that I had [this time]: the lactation consultants, friends who have breastfed, Instagram accounts,” the Family Reunion star added.
Cree, Tia and Cory’s son, is now 8-years-old and described as a gentle soul by his mom. “One of his friends was being bullied,” Tia recalls. “The bully cranked back his hand, and Cree knew that he was about to hit his friend. So Cree stepped in front of the child and got hit in the chest.”
Although Tia was immensely disturbed by the situation, she took heart that her “gentle giant” stood in the gap for someone else. In many ways, Cree gets his sense of community from his family.
“I was shooting My Christmas Inn in Utah, and my husband was shooting his show, The Oath, in Puerto Rico. I couldn’t take my son with me because I didn’t want to disrupt school,” Tia shares.
“It was hard seeing my son in such an emotional state where he missed both parents. But my mom, dad, and brothers stepped in like no other. Even my sister came over with the kids. Life is not perfect, and there are going to be times where you’re going to have to pull things out of your Mary Poppins bag.”
