Disney released the latest trailer for the upcoming Lion King reboot on Monday (June 3). Many fans are saying that the teaser was made especially for Beyonce.

In the clip, Nala (Beyonce) tells Simba (Donald Glover) that he must take his place in the circle of life as king. The footage is only about 30 seconds long and only features Bey’s voice as Nala. Such is the reason why fans are deeming Disney’s latest Lion King trailer as one made especially for the ‘Formation’ singer.
“The hype is real,” one Bey fan wrote online after seeing the clip. Another YouTube fan said, “Beyonce’s voice gave me chills. I like how she doesn’t voice act too often.”
Some are still confused about the concept of a remake film of this sort. A few viewers even expressed concern over the fact that the animals in the Lion King reboot lack the facial expressions that helped make the first film so great. Director Jon Favreau explains his vision behind the upcoming Lion King film.
“Well, it’s difficult because it’s neither [animation nor live-action], really,” the director shares. “There are no real animals and there are no real cameras and…there’s not even any performance that’s being captured,” Favreau continues. “But to say it’s animated, I think, is misleading as far as what the expectations might be. And it also changes the way you sit and watch it.”
What can viewers expect to see in the Lion King remake? “We’re staying very, very close to what you think it’s gonna be,” Favreau shares. “I think part of it is just understanding the way memory works. What expectations are and then being able to do things like, ‘I think we can [improve] the humor here, I don’t think this joke holds up as well, I think we could change the characterization of this character to feel more consistent with the rest of the film, or more current [so it] doesn’t feel like it’s something from a different era.”
