Skye Turner, the singing sensation that is shaking up the internet, got the surprise of a lifetime during her recent visit to The Steve Harvey Show. The young fan had the chance to sing with the legendary Patti Labelle.
Skye told Steve that her passion for singing extends beyond the millions of hits that she gets on the World Wide Web. “I like to be there during people’s times of sorrow and times of joy,” she explained. Turner also told the talk show host that she loves Old School music.
“I like Old School music,” Sky shared. “People who sing about love, and the Gospel, and more. I love artists like Tina Marie, Prince, Anita Baker, and especially Mrs. Patti Labelle.”
Although she is only 10-years-old, Skye Turner understands her place in life. “I don’t want to wait until I’m older to become what I want to be,” she revealed to Steve. “I want to be a diva … an entertainer. An entertainer is somebody who acts, sings, dances, and more. I make music and publish it. I want it to last for generations … just like Mrs. Patti Labelle.”
Turner was shocked and overcome with emotion when her role model, Mrs. Patti Labelle, stepped on the stage during the youngster’s performance of “If You Only Knew.” Skye tried to finish the song but could not seeing as how Mrs. Labelle was standing on the sidelines.
“Skye, you are amazing. You are a singing angel,” Patti told the young talent. “When I heard this little baby sing, I said, ‘My goodness God is good. You’re a star.”
