Kevin Hart Says Son Kenzo’s Cowboys-and-Indians-Themed Birthday Party Wasn’t a “Racial Slur.” The celebrity father was on the defensive after being dragged online for giving his youngest son, Kenzo Hart, a birthday bash that shed light on the Wild West as represented in the game, “Cowboys And Indians.”
“The reason why I’m even bringing this dumb sh—t up is because it shows just how stupid our world is becoming with opinions,” Kevin said during a segment on his SiriusXM Radio show, Straight From The Heart. “People are at a point of an all-time high,” Kevin continued.
“I’m saying the battle that is ‘assumed’ because of the movies and because of everything they’ve seen, was because of the fights that were between the cowboys and the Indians,” the celebrity father said in further defense of his son’s birthday bash.
“So as a kid, when you played these games, it was based off of the premise from a hypothetical place that was put into perception for movies. So what I’m saying — this isn’t something that was just started. This isn’t a racial slur that people are doing and being malicious with. This is a game that’s been played for years.”
Perhaps the critics were pointing to the game “Cowboys And Indians” as bigoted in nature and not just referencing Kenzo Hart’s party as racist. The child’s adventure is heavily dependent on the violent conflicts between the Native Americans and European settlers that plagued the nineteenth century. The settlers were determined to gain new ground by any means necessary, which included genocide.
In any case, Kevin Hart and his wife, Eniko Hart, rang in their son’s first birthday with a bang last week. Kenzo is the youngest of Kevin Hart’s three children.
