It seems that nothing Kim Kardashian does these days is good enough. The most recent “taboo” of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has to do with her daughter North West’s hair.
Kim sought the services of a professional stylist to straighten North’s hair in honor of the little one’s birthday. Some fans praised Kim for giving her daughter a new hairstyle. Other critics, however, blasted the celebrity mom for putting her youngster through the strenuous process of straightening.
“North West is still a baby and has straight hair,” one critic tweeted. “I know we all had straight hair too at that age but it’s 2018! The enlightened YouTube era! Come on KimberYe get it together.” Another social media commenter even went so far as to rebut someone’s defense of Kim by saying, “It’s a kiiiidd. Kids shouldn’t go through that. Her hair is curly and beautiful and she should wear it like that. My sister’s hair got completely destroyed when she was just 11 cuz my parents straightened it.”
Of course, even with critics giving them little room to defend, loyal fans of Kim Kardashian still stood up for the star mom online. “Girl, it’s hair,” one Twitter fan commented. “Hair grows back. just because it’s straightened doesn’t mean it’s destined to get damaged. “People are upset in the replies cause North’s hair is straight as if little black girls never have their hair straightened when they’re younger,” another fan said.
North West celebrated her fifth birthday on June 15. 2018. She is the oldest of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s three children.
