Will and Jaden Smith are donating water from their new brand, JUST Water, to the residents of Flint, Michigan. The celebrity father and son decided to contribute to the cause of supplying fresh water to the region since learning of Flint’s crisis that has been ongoing since April 2014.
“This just makes sense for us to do,” JUST Water CEO Ira Laufer tells media. “Jada Smith has visited Flint and met with the mayor. Flint is very dear to her heart … After reading more about [Flint’s] challenges and the mayor objecting to pulling bottled water from the schools, we thought ‘Let’s help these kids.'”

Both Will and Jaden will be known as the eco-friendly water specialists who helped a city in need. Fifteen people have died as a result of contaminated water since news of the Flint Water Crisis spread in 2014. Nearly four years later, and the city’s residents are still grappling with the effects of lead. Fertility rates in Flint have decreased all while fetal deaths have increased in Flint. City officials are now under fire as a result of their neglect.
