This is exciting! Peter Thomas revealed that his grandsons, Berlin and August, are the newest cast members of the hit ABC series, Black-ish.
We knew that the Johnsons added a baby to their bunch. We just didn’t quite put the pieces together that little Berlin and August were that kid. Porsche Thomas’ twins star as DeVante who, if you watched last season’s finale, made quite the dramatic entrance. First, there was the moment where fans wondered if Bow and the little one would survive. Then, there was the naming of the child of which Dre took charge. The family’s patriarch was questioned, however, upon revelation of the name, “DeVante” as both Bow and Ruby thought the title too “Black.”
Little DeVante’s labor and delivery experience is a bit similar to Porche’s expectancy of Berlin and August. Many may remember the daughter of Peter Thomas clapping back at trolls who deemed her too dark in a photo that showed her bare bump. The photo went viral, which caused Porche to respond by saying how much she loved her “dark” skin. Really, people?
Porche also discussed the experience with BET. “I shake everything off that’s negative,” she explained. “I don’t hold on to other people’s opinions that have nothing to do with me. I laugh at the ignorance. I know it exists, it’s there and it’s sad. The fact that we’re in a Trump era made it less funny. But I don’t let things like that bother me. I’m pretty secure in myself.” That’s right, girl!
Porsche welcomed her and husband Till H.’s sons in January. The boys made the couple parents for the first time.
