Dave East has a fan and musical partner in his daughter, Kairi Chanel Brewster. The rapper’s little one is featured on his latest project to the delight of many fans.

“I’m excited for it,” Dave says of his new EP called Paranoia. “Like with all my previous projects, I know what I got on it, and I know the climate of rap right now and, in my opinion, what’s needed. So I feel good,” he shares.

Dave also feels pretty good about receiving nods from the like of Russell Simmons and other veterans in the industry. It’s extra icing on the cake to have Kairi accompany him on the project. “She on ‘Paranoia,'” East gushes to HotNewHipHop. “I be thinking about it sometimes like, ‘Man, I could be with Kairi every day, all day, but be dead broke; scrambling trying to figure out how to get her diapers, to feed her, but be with her all the time,” he explains.

“Now, I got to exchange the time to go get it,” Dave continues. “But that makes her life that much more comfortable when I get back to her. So it’s a weird balance. At first, it was scary. When I would leave away from her for like eight or nine days, I’d be like, ‘D*mn, is she going to remember me?’ And my mom would be like, ‘You’re her dad. Of course, she’s going to remember you.’ I would leave and then I’d come back, and she’d run up on me; she’d grab me, kiss me. It just started letting me know [that] she knows exactly who I am.”
