Victory looks good on Sherri Shepherd. The celebrity mom took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce a child support verdict given in her favor on Tuesday.

Sherri’s ex-husband, Lamar Sally, petitioned the California courts to increase his ex-wife’s child support payments for their son, Lamar Jr., a few weeks back. The screenwriter wanted an “exorbitant and absurd” increase from the $4,100 that Sherri already pays in support of little Lamar. A California judge, however,  threw out the case due to New Jersey’s jurisdiction over the matter.

“Shepherd had a huge victory in the California family court,” the television personality’s spokesperson told media after the case. “The California judge agreed with Shepherd’s counsel Terry Levich Ross, Esq. and determined that by Sally’s own agreement in two separate legal judgments, New Jersey has exclusive and ongoing jurisdiction over this child support issue and all matters must be dealt with only in that state,” the representative continued.

Furthermore, “The amount of child support Shepherd is currently paying her ex-husband is more than New Jersey has required her to pay, so if Sally wanted to revisit the matter in a New Jersey court he would likely face having his payments reduced substantially. Shepherd now hopes that her ex will stop his frivolous attempts to get more money out of her and will seek gainful employment to take care of his child like any other capable parent.”

In addition to responding by way of an official press release, Sherri Shepherd took to social media with words of her own after the case. “How many ex husbands does it take to get money from a single mom,” she asked in a tweet. “Two,” she answered. “#dumb and #dumber #getalife #getajob.”

Little Lamar Sally is Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally Sr.’s only child together. Sherri also has a son named Jeffrey with ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley.
