Chris Rock is getting a divorce and worrying about his daughters’ future. The comedian tells the Guardian that he wonders if he will be able to prevent his daughters from developing “daddy issues” now that he and estranged wife Malaak are apart.
“Can I keep it going and raise healthy daughters who don’t have daddy issues because I’m gone all the time,” asks the star. “Who the h*** knows what’s next,” adds Chris.
Although the single life presents its challenges, the comedian assures media that he is adjusting to his new family arrangement. “I’m doing OK,” reveals the star. “You know, some days are better than others, some days you’re sad outta your f***ing mind. But my daughters are good and I’m only an hour away. Two houses close by. It’s good.”
Chris and estranged wife Malaak Compton Rock moved to divorce one another a few months ago after twenty years of marriage. The former couple have two daughters, Lola and Zahra, together.
