The spotlight was on Taye Diggs and Walker as the two attended the premiere of Monkey Kingdom at The Grove on Sunday. The actor and his son were in full support of Maya and her newborn.
Monkey Kingdom follows the monkey and her son, Kip, whose personality resembles that of his mother’s strong character. Maya wants her son to enjoy all of the luxuries in life, and advance within the Temple Troop hierarchy, but such progression is not going to be easy. As both Kip and Maya learn, the monkeys in the Temple Troop are fierce and unwilling to submit to a new ruler in the near or distant future. The mother and her son must rely on one another to get through the various trials and thrive.
Taye knows a thing or two about teaching kids how to navigate through life. In fact, the actor has told media that he often feels helpless when thinking of the many things his son may encounter. “The part of fatherhood that I’m having the most difficult time with is the fear,” said Diggs during one interview. He further explained, “Being a dad as taught me how helpless I can feel. And while that’s hard sometimes, it’s worth every single minute of worry.”
Walker is Taye Diggs’ only son with ex-wife Idina Menzel. Monkey Kingdom makes its public debut on April 17, 2015. Watch the official trailer below!
