He may not have a working relationship with his oldest son, but 50 Cent is definitely trying to do right by his youngest child, Sire.
The rapper recently had a candid conversation with GQ magazine in which he told the interviewer that he loves children.
“I don’t have anything negative around the concept of kids,” said the rap star. Fiddy also talked about his eldest son, Marquise, and the strained relationship they have. “Me and my son, we don’t have a relationship anymore,” shared the rapper. “It’s based on his mom. He’s adopted her way of thinking.”
A few weeks back, 50 Cent told media that Shaniqua Tompkins, Marquise’s mother, was to blame for all of the turmoil between him and his son. “He [has] completely embraced his mom’s perspective [on the situation]. It’s a part of that entitlement,” explained the rap star. “[Shaniqua] hasn’t worked since 2000. So tell me how you do that as a single mom? What is your child’s lifestyle like right now minus your career since 2000?…Her being at home since 2000 is saying that what I provide for him is enough for her to not have to actually go to work. So it already takes that pressure off in that way, but it’s still not quite enough because she still [feels] like destroying the relationship [between my son and I] is a way of getting back [at me].”
Marquise is Shaniqua and Fiddy’s only child together. Sire is the rapper’s son with Daphne Narvaez.
