Chicago ‘Bulls’ player Derrick Rose took a pause for the cause to celebrate his son, Derrick Jr.’s birthday this past weekend. The NBA star stopped playing ball for a day to ring in his son’s first birthday in style. Derrick Jr.’s birthday isn’t until Wednesday but mom, Mieka Reese, and dad decided to have a party for him a bit early.
The tot had everything from cookies to costumes at his monster-themed party. Everyone except Derrick Sr. sported monster costumes. The Chicago ‘Bulls’ player opted to wear an outfit from ‘Duck Dynasty’ instead.
Rose told CNN that fatherhood is the best feeling in the world. “[It] slowed everything down. I’m able to relax now,” said the star athlete.
Derrick Sr. and Mieka welcomed their son into the world on October 9, 2012. He is their first child together. Check out pictures from little Derrick’s birthday party below!
