DA BRAT AND JUDY HARRIS-DUPART CAN’T AGREE ON SON TRUE’S BEDTIME SCHEDULE

Da Brat and Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart may not argue often, but like many parents, they don’t always agree when it comes to raising their son.

The couple recently opened up about one of their current debates involving their son, True Legend, and what time he should go to bed.

“I think the one argument that we might have right now is about our son’s schedule,” Judy shared on Speak On It with Kandi Burruss. “She feels like, you know, whatever his nap time was, that’s how we going to predicate what time he go to sleep. And I feel like, well, we should have him a set schedule because he has to get up and go to school.”

Da Brat quickly made it clear that she doesn’t agree.

“I don’t agree with that because sometimes his nap is later and he can’t—if he wake up from his nap at 7:00 p.m., he can’t go back to bed at 8:30,” she explained.

“He can”t wake up from his nap at 7:00 p.m.” Judy questioned, adding, “You don’t let him sleep all day.”

“Well, I can do that. I can do that. But if he don’t go to sleep till later,” Da Brat responded.

For now, the couple says that is about as serious as their disagreements get.

“Yeah, we don’t really have that,” they shared when asked about arguments in their relationship, noting that they “don’t really happen that often.”

When disagreements do get heated, Da Brat said Judy has learned to walk away to keep things from escalating.

“She’ll just get up and walk out,” Da Brat said.

“To deescalate the situation,” Judy explained.

The couple also looked back on their journey to becoming parents. Da Brat carried True, though she admitted that pregnancy wasn’t initially something she wanted to experience.

“Well, at first I didn’t want to,” she said. “At first I was like, ‘I ain’t having no—I can’t carry no baby.’”

Judy, however, believed her wife would ultimately enjoy being pregnant.

“I felt like she was going to enjoy the experience, which she did. She loved it,” she said.

According to Judy, Da Brat also had a relatively smooth pregnancy.

“She loved the whole thing. She didn’t have any throwing up. She didn’t have no nausea. She didn’t have none of that,” she said. “She never experienced a contraction, no nothing.”

Da Brat and Judy welcomed True Legend in July 2023.
