Anthony Edwards has scored a legal victory in his ongoing child support dispute with Ayesha Howard.
According to TMZ, a Georgia judge has ordered the Minnesota Timberwolves star to pay $3,222 per month in child support for the former couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Aubri’.
Edwards signed a five-year contract extension worth more than $200 million with the Timberwolves in 2023. Court records obtained by the outlet show he has been making child support payments since January 2025, beginning with an initial payment of $20,000 followed by monthly payments of $5,000 through the date of trial. In total, he has paid $110,000 in child support.
The court ruling follows months of back-and-forth over where child support should be determined. Howard sought to have the case heard in California, while Edwards argued the matter belonged in Georgia. He also maintained Howard had no meaningful ties to California and filed there in hopes of receiving a larger child support award.
Earlier this year, Howard asked a California court to reconsider her child support petition. She claimed Edwards has a California LLC, registered trademarks, a Beverly Hills bank account, and business relationships with California-based sports agents.
Howard argued those connections established a business and financial presence in the state and supported her request to have the case heard there.
The judge ultimately sided with Edwards, leaving the case in Georgia. Court records also state that Howard did not appear at trial and presented no evidence supporting her claims.
The legal dispute between Edwards and Howard began in late 2024. Howard filed a child support petition in California in September, shortly before welcoming their daughter, Aubri’, on Oct. 14, 2024. Edwards later filed a paternity and child support action in Georgia, where DNA testing confirmed in December 2024 that he is Aubri’s father.
He later agreed to grant Howard sole physical and legal custody. Court records also state that he is not seeking visitation rights and has maintained that the case is strictly about child support, not custody or visitation.
Howard is also mom to son Jason, whom she shares with rapper Lil Baby.
