Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict reunited over the weekend to celebrate their daughter Cairo’s 8th birthday.
The former couple hosted a safari-themed backyard party, complete with oversized balloon displays, animal details, and a petting zoo for the kids.
Mowry took to her Instagram on Tuesday to share a series of photos which showed Cairo in a tan safari-style outfit with striped socks and braided pigtails.
The post also included one photo of Cairo joined by both of her parents and older brother Cree around a table during the daytime gathering. In another photo, she posed beside her mom on the grass in a leopard-print animal mask.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby girl Cairo! I can’t believe she’s 8! We had the best time celebrating with a safari themed petting zoo party because this girl is OBSESSED with animals and insisted on it,” she wrote.
Cairo’s love of animals showed throughout the party as she interacted with a turtle, snake, alligator, and guinea pig. Mowry appeared far less comfortable during those moments, while Cairo looked completely at ease.
Mowry later admitted that her daughter handled the animal encounters much better than she did.
“As you can tell, I was TERRIFIED and Cairo was FEARLESS! I love watching you grow into the brave, curious, unapologetically YOU little girl you are. Happy birthday, my sweet girl!”
A few days earlier, Mowry reflected on Cairo getting older in a separate Instagram post.
“My baby turns 8 on May 5th and yes, I’m already getting emotional,” she wrote at the time. “Cairo, I learn so much from you just by being your mom. You are smart, funny, confident, and so unapologetically YOU. There is something so special about watching you come into your own more and more each day. I love you so much and I feel so lucky to be your mama.”
Mowry and Hardrict finalized their divorce in 2023. They share two children, Cairo and Cree.
