Zhuri James delivered the ceremonial first serve at the LOVB Volleyball Championship in Long Beach, California, on April 16.
The daughter of LeBron James and Savannah James showed off her volleyball skills in front of a packed arena, drawing cheers as she sent the ball over the net.
LeBron later shared clips of his daughter on Instagram, writing, “Zhuri did the first serve at the LOVB Volleyball Championship Game last night! So damn cute and proud of you!! You’re truly AMAZING!!”
Fans reacted in real time to the post in the comments section.
“A star in the making!” one person wrote.
“DID THAT,” another added.
“This is what it’s all about,” a third comment read.
Others who were in attendance also shared their reactions, with one person writing, “She did do good! We were going crazy for her!”
Zhuri also had a role as a junior reporter off the court, where she interviewed Skylar Fields.
“Hi, I’m Zhuri James here with Skylar, my bestie,” she said to open the segment.
What’s your favorite cereal?” Zhuri asked at the start.
“My favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch,” Fields responded.
“That’s a good choice,” Zhuri replied, before continuing the rapid-fire questions.
She went on to ask, “Would you rather a dig or an ace?” with Fields choosing “A dig,” and followed it up with, “Would you rather a braid or a bun?” prompting the response, “I’m a braid girl through and through.”
The appearance follows another recent on-court moment for Zhuri. She went viral in February after joining her father before the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Golden State Warriors, where she was seen dribbling and taking a few shots.
But according to LeBron, her focus is already set.
“She’s a volleyball player, don’t get my wife mad,” he joked after the game. “My wife is done with basketball, she’s done with it.”
“[Zhuri’s] a volleyball player. But she’s been around the game for a while, so she does got good handles and she’s good form, too. But my wife ain’t playing that. Not another one. She says that’s it.”
Zhuri is the youngest of LeBron and Savannah James’ three children. The couple also share sons Bronny and Bryce, who both play basketball.
