Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels came together for their daughter Safire Majesty Samuels’ preschool graduation on Saturday.
The Love & Hip Hop alums looked proud as they posed with their daughter during the celebration. One sweet photo shows the co-parents kissing Safire Majesty on both cheeks while she beamed in her cap and beautiful dress.
“My girl is going to kindergarten,” Mena wrote on Instagram Stories. “God bless you princess.”
Safire was born on February 3, 2020. She is Mena’s second child and her first with Samuels, whom she married in October 2019. The pair later split while Mena was pregnant with their second child, son Legend.
Despite past differences, Mena and Samuels appear to be on better terms. In a December 2024 interview with Keyshia Ka’oir, Samuels shared that at one point, he had not seen his children in person for four months.
At the time, he explained that most communication with his kids was through video chats. “Of course it bothers me, but I have to be strong,” he said. “I know it’s not going to be like this forever.”
He also expressed his hope for a stable custody schedule.
“When my daughter calls me, I’m like, ‘Okay, cool. I do want to see y’all,’” he said. “I’ll bring them to point A, and I have no problem going there. But I’m not going anywhere near there without a transfer. I’m still trying to get that figured out.”
Since then, it seems progress has been made. In recent months, Samuels has appeared in videos spending quality time with both Safire and Legend. There have been no public signs of conflict between him and Mena.
Mena is a mother of three. She had her first child, son King, with rapper Raul Conde when she was 19. Years later, she welcomed Safire and Legend with Samuels.
