Kehlani has a six year old on her hands!
Over the weekend, the Grammy-nominated artist threw a Moana-themed birthday party for her little one IN Hawaii.
Sharing some photos from the event on Instagram, she wrote: “Can’t believe ur 6, can’t believe how many celebrations u had, can’t believe how many people love u. It’s. all. for. u. ALWAYS. ALL WAYS.”
The comment section quickly flooded with messages from fans, many of whom have followed Kehlani’s motherhood journey since they first announced their pregnancy in 2018.
“This is so beautiful you’re doing a great job happy birthday to deyaa.”
“This is what paradise really looks like, Mahalo for capturing the true essence of Hawaii…. OHANA..”
“I remember the day you posted your pregnancy announcement pictures. It feels like it was just yesterday.”
Kehlani welcomed Adeya Nomi Parrish Young-White in March 2019 with guitarist Javaughn Young-White. Even before becoming a parent, the singer openly expressed their strong desire for motherhood.
“If you know me, you know i’ve dreamt about motherhood since i was very young. when asked what my goals are, it’s always the idea of a big healthy happy family & whatever comes along is a plus,” she wrote on Instagram.
The singer and Young-White ended their relationship shortly after Adeya’s birth but remained committed to co-parenting. However, in 2024, Young-White filed for full custody of their daughter, leading to legal complications.
In court documents, he expressed concerns over Kehlani’s parenting choices, specifically claiming that Adeya’s home birth was influenced by a group he labeled a “cult.” He also alleged that members of this group helped care for Adeya while Kehlani was on tour and that his name was not included on their daughter’s birth certificate.
However, Javaughn later walked back several of these allegations, stating that his previous legal counsel had included claims without his full approval. While the situation garnered significant attention, Kehlani has remained steadfast in her devotion to Adeya.
