Anthony Mackie says in an exclusive interview withEsquire Magazine that he keeps his business and private life separate, and that includes keeping his children out of the spotlight.
“I’ve always kept my personal life out of the business,” the Captain America: Brave New World actor told the outlet.
“I don’t allow people to photograph my kids. I don’t bring my kids around. I want my kids to be normal.”
Although Mackie is one of of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, he told People Magazine in a previous interview that his children are not interested in him as an actor.
“They’re pretty much really not into me as an actor at all,” the 8-Mile alum said. “It’s shockingly funny how much they couldn’t care less about me being in movies.”
He said last year in an interview regarding his children that, “They’re getting to the age where their individual personalities are starting to show, it’s fun to be able to embrace that and experience that their growth as individuals.”
“My second kid, he’s a cook. We cook together all the time,” he explained. “My oldest is kind of emotionally like me. I’ve enjoyed just being at home and able to get to know them better as individuals.”
Mackie shares four boys, who range in age from 8 to 15, with ex-wife, Sheleeta Chapital.
Mackie is about to embark upon another professional milestone moment as he will embrace the character of Captain America onscreen in the upcoming long-awaited Marvel movie, Captain America: Brave New World.
If you haven’t heard anything about this upcoming film, which is almost guaranteed to become a blockbuster, here is a brief synopsis from IMDb.com: Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, finds himself in the middle of an international incident and must discover the motive behind a nefarious global plan.
