Imani Hakim is pregnant! The ‘Everybody Hates Chris star and her fiancé, Chris Naoki Lee, are expecting their first child together.
The couple took to Instagram to share the happy news, posting a stunning black-and-white video where Imani debuts her baby bump while sitting beside Chris and their dog, Kobe.
They simply captioned, “World premiere 2025.”
The announcement comes just weeks after another major milestone for the pair— their engagement! Earlier this month, Chris popped the question in a romantic proposal at the home they had recently moved into.
Chris shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the magical moment on Instagram, where friends of the couple were seen helping set up the big surprise.
In his heartfelt post, Chris wrote, “Greatest thing is to love and be loved in return. So here’s to a lifetime of loving cause we ENGAGED!”
He went on to thank the friends and family who helped make the proposal unforgettable, including Imani’s three sisters who played a vital role in planning and keeping the occasion a secret.
“Months of planning and secret phone calls led to one magical afternoon, and fortunately, she had no idea,” he continued. “Endless amount of you thank you’s to everyone who came out to surprise the tears out of our bride to be…. We know we couldn’t celebrate with everyone so we can’t wait to see many of yall in the near future!”
Imani Hakim first won hearts as Tonya Rock on the UPN/CW sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.
Since then, she’s continued to shine in her career, starring as Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas in the Lifetime movie The Gabby Douglas Story and appearing in films like Chocolate City and Burning Sands.
Currently, Imani has a supporting role on the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest, where she continues to impress audiences with her talent.
