Over the weekend, Usher and his wife Jenn Goicoechea-Raymond threw an unforgettable joint birthday bash for their two children, Sovereign Bo and Sire Castrello Raymond,
With Sovereign’s birthday on September 24 and Sire’s on September 29, the couple decided to celebrate both occasions together, creating a weekend filled with lots of fun family moments.
The celebration was extra special for little Sire, whose birthday landed on Sunday, September 29.
The birthday boy was spoiled with not one but two cakes! Usher took to Instagram on Monday, September 30, sharing snapshots of Sire enjoying the first of his cakes—a two-tier masterpiece featuring a cars theme. The adorable toddler grinned from ear to ear as posed with the sweet treat in several shots.
Usher also shared a video in which he could be seen picking up Sire’s cake and yelling, “Who wants cake?” prompting excited cheers from the tiny party guests.
“Celebrating Sire!! Happy birthday to U!” Usher wrote in the caption.
Jenn Goicoechea also offered a peek into the party via her Instagram, giving fans an up-close look at Sire’s second birthday cake—a one-tier cars theme cake—while big sister Sovereign had a whimsical pink castle cake.
In a photo posted to Jenn’s Instagram story, the siblings were seen blowing out candles on their cakes, with their family and friends surrounding them.
In a recent interview with The Cut, Usher opened up about his parenting style, explaining how he navigates being a father to four kids..
“I try to coddle my kids to protect them from emotions and life and love and sex – you can’t!” Usher told the publication. “They want to experience things too. Why make them feel as though they need to hide it?”
The musician also revealed that music is a central part of how he connects with his children.
“One of the greatest gifts I could ever give to one of my children is to be able to tell them, ‘I know exactly how you feel right now. Listen to this song,’ ” he continued. “My house is like a mini art gallery, and my kids are the features.”
In addition to Sire and Sovereign, Usher is also father to sons Usher “Cinco” V and Naviyd Ely, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
