Remy Ma and Papoose celebrated their daughter Reminisce’s first day of kindergarten this week. The proud parents took to Instagram yesterday to share their excitement and post photos from the big day.
Papoose shared a series of photos, including a touching moment where he gives his daughter a kiss on the cheek. Alongside these, he threw in some throwback photos, giving fans a glimpse of how much their “Golden Child” has grown.
He captioned the post, “Today #thegoldenchild started kindergarten. My baby been ready! Love you BIG SUGAR!!!! #Mackie”
Remy Ma also marked the occasion with a slideshow featuring snaps of Reminisce’s first day, dancing, and even some nostalgic clips from earlier years.
She wrote, “I have a Kindergartner. @ReminisceMacKenzie is getting so big too fast! My lil GoldenChild is everything tho!! Sidebar: I may post some of her TikToks so yall can see her more; her personality …jokes! Double Sidebar: Who else lost their mind tryna find all the school supplies these people were requesting?… like why do I need 12 glue sticks and 4 boxes of crayons and 2 packs of markers and yeah I bought Crayola but why do u care what brand they are?”
While many fans expressed their love for the adorable family moment, not all comments were as positive.
Some users questioned Remy Ma’s lack of presence in the photos, suggesting Papoose was more involved in their daughter’s big day.
“We can definitely tell the mindset of each parent!! Papoose you’re a great man I’m pretty sure you’ll find your Empress real soon,” one commenter wrote.
“Wow…She looked so much older and grown in the pics posted with her mother. Have a safe school year!” another fan said.
“We see who took her to school, outstanding King,” another chimed in.
In response to that remark, Remy Ma shot back with, “You see what was wanted to be seen but ok,” before the comment was deleted.
Rumors of a possible separation between Remy Ma and Papoose have been circulating for months.
Adding fuel to the ongoing rumors about a possible separation, fans have also noticed that Remy Ma recently reverted to her maiden name, Remy Kioni Smith. The name change was spotted in the credits of her new single with Fat Joe, “Outta Control,” which dropped in July.
Her previous work, including 2023’s “Ghetto & Ratchet (Remix)” with Connie Diamond, listed her as Remy Mackie.
The estranged couple, who married in May 2008, welcomed their daughter Reminisce in December 2018.
