Earlier this month at the D23 Expo, in Anaheim, CA, Disney dropped the first look trailer for Percy Jackson & The Olympians. And as you may expect, fans of the show are already waiting with baited breath to see what adventures Percy and the other demigods undertake this time around. Check out the D23 first-look teaser for season two below and make sure to catch up on the first season as we wait for the next to release on Disney+.
So, just what can we expect from the upcoming season? Well, according to JustJaredJr.com, below is a brief synopsis of the action.
Season two is, of course, going to be based on book two, “The Sea of Monsters,” where Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.
In addition to Aryan Simhadri, Leah Sava Jeffries and Walker Scobell, the season two cast is expanding to include: Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho. According to The Hollywood Reporter, trio has been cast as the Gray sisters, “who run a taxi service (also known as the Chariot of Damnation) and share one eye and one tooth between them.”
Sandra will portray Anger, “who’s in charge of collecting fares and is impatient to get her turn using the eye.” Kristen will take on the role of Tempest, “who currently has the eye and uses it to watch the heroes, read their futures — and tease them about their social lives.” Margaret will play Wasp, “the main driver of the taxi who takes the demigods on a wild ride to Camp Half-Blood.”
Season two of Percy Jackson & The Olympians is currently in production and will debut on Disney+ in 2025.
