Singer Ashanti and her unborn baby are trending on social media for all the wrong reasons. On Wednesday, TMZ reported that Ashanti’s husband, Nelly, was arrested on charges of felony drug possession and for driving without car insurance.
The news has sparked widespread concern among fans, with many questioning the impact on Ashanti and her baby. “Did Ashanti have her baby yet?” some worried fans asked.

In April 2024, Ashanti and Nelly revealed their engagement and baby news. However, it soon emerged that they secretly married on December 27, 2023, in Nelly’s hometown of St. Louis County, Missouri.
Since rekindling their romance last year, Ashanti and Nelly have become a frequent fixture in the media.
Reflecting on their relationship, Ashanti shared insights in an interview with ET. “The growth has been like superb, you know, like on both ends,” she said of their relationship now as compared to a decade ago. “We are both at a place where like before, sometimes we would argue and walk out, slam the door, and not talk for a few days.”
