Happy birthday wishes are in order for Monica’s mother, Marilyn Best. The singer and her children all celebrate Best together in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The “Letters” singer shared a stunning carousel of images on social media of she and her family in the tropical island paradise. She started out her caption saying, “The Happiest Feelings Begin & End With THEM!” followed by a pair of purple and black hearts.
She continued wishing her mother a happy birthday, concluding with a question posed to fans.
“Happy 73rd NANA. Have you ever vacationed with your entire family?”
In a recent cover interview for Hello Beautiful, Monica opened up about how being a mother has brought her a “level of happiness” that she would not have been able to find anywhere else.
“It’s a level of happiness and joy and it’s the unconditional love that you just can’t find in other places.”
The 43-year-old is mother to three children: daughter Laiyah, 10, with whom she shares with ex-Shannon Brown; sons Romelo, 16, and Rodney, 18, with whom she shares with ex-Rodney “Rocko” Hill. Monica is also a dedicated stepmother to Hill’s son, Ramone, 28.
In the interview the talented songwriter goes on to say that she and her ex’s successfully “co-parent,” yet she relies on her older stepson to help her with the younger ones, calling him her “right hand man.”
Additionally, Monica also tells the outlet that she is working hard to instill in her daughter a sense of confidence.
“I’m not directing her or redirecting her away from what her goals and dreams are,” the mom shares. “We’re pushing her towards it because I think she has the right support system to be a part of what she wants to be a part of. But I love the joy of having a daughter. I love the fun of us being able to talk about some of the female things.”
