Comedian, singer, and actor Eddie Murphy is offering fans a rare glimpse into his world with his children. In a recent interview with E! News, the 63-year-old made a rare comment about his kids, specifically sharing whether or not his younger children have seen his films.
Murphy, a father of ten, revealed that while most of his children are grown, he still has two under the age of ten. He explained that when it comes to Izzy Oona, 8, and Max Charles, 5, some of his movies are off-limits, but not all.
“My kids are all grown-ups now, except three of them,” Eddie said at the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F premiere in Beverly Hills, CA. “The two little ones that are 5 and 8, all they’ve seen is Shrek and Mulan—and little pieces of Coming to America.”
The Saturday Night Live alum added, “Doctor Doolittle they’ve seen and Daddy Daycare is next.”
Murphy shares Izzy Oona and Max Charles with Australian actress Paige Butcher. In addition to his youngest children, he is also father to: Eric Murphy, 34, with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely; Bria Murphy, 34, Myles Mitchell Murphy, 31, Shayne Audra Murphy, 29, Zola Ivy Murphy, 24, and Bella Zahra Murphy, 22, with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell; Christian Murphy, 33, with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood; and Angel Iris Murphy Brown, 17, with Spice Girls singer Melanie Brown.
Back in 2021, Murphy was candid about his daughter Bella starring alongside him in the Coming 2 America sequel telling Essence Magazine that he broke a family rule by allowing her to star in the movie. At the time, Bella was 17 and Murphy’s children were not allowed to act until they were 18 and over.
It appears as if starring alongside the Oscar-winner is truly becoming a family affair. This time around, daughter Bria and her husband Michael Xavier are featured in the Beverly Hills Cop sequel.
“She’s the one that arrested me,” Eddie shared in a recent interview with Today. “And in the other scene when I get arrested in the movie, that’s my son-in-law tasing me in the neck. It was right after they got married that he’s tasing me in my neck and I’m like, ‘this is surreal.'”
The long-awaited sequel, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will be available to stream on Netflix, starting July 3!
