If you are the parent of a preschooler, then you are unquestionably familiar with Morphle on YouTube because more than likely, you are one of the 12 million subscribers that tune in to watch the adventures of Mila, her stepbrother Jordie, and their shapeshifting magic pet, Morphle. Well, get ready to watch more Morphle and friends as the series has just expanded and Morphle and the Magic Pets is being added to the Disney family, debuting on Disney Junior and Disney+.
The series will be produced by Moonbug Entertainment, the same production house that is behind CoComelon and Blippi. So, just what can fans of the YouTube series expect from the new Disney series? Well, check out a brief synopsis below from Parents.com.
The show follows Mila and her new stepbrother Jordie as they go on some amazing adventures with the help of Morphle, Mila’s magical pet. Morphle has the power to “morph” into whatever Mila imagines.
“[Morphle] is Mila’s magic match and her faithful best friend,” Kathy Power, Creative Executive for Morphle told Parents.com in a recent interview. “He has comically big feelings which he can’t always control but luckily, Morphle has two amazing friends in Mila and Jordie to help him learn to regulate those big feelings.”
Power went on to explain that Morphle isn’t the only magic pet that parents and their preschoolers will encounter in this new series that will help kids tackle big emotions with solutions.
“These magic pets are a mixture of real-world animals with fantastical powers. These powers can sometimes be a source of chaos and sometimes part of the solution! Some of our pets are also looking for their magic matches just like Mila and Morphle. A magic match happens when a kid and a pet with complimentary personality traits meet and become ‘best friends forever and ever.'”
Morphle and the Magic Pets has 52 episodes of that are seven minutes long. Additionally, in true Disney fashion, there is more! There are another 50 shorts that are about three minutes long for parents to enjoy. Morphle and the Magic Pets is geared toward preschoolers, ages 3-6, per Power, focuses on themes of creativity, self-confidence, problem-solving, and friendship.
