NBA star Christian Wood has secured a legal victory in his ongoing feud with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, Yasmine Lopez.

The Lakers star was  awarded a permanent restraining order against Lopez following a court hearing this week in Los Angeles Superior Court. Additionally, he was granted sole custody of their 10-month-old son, Kobe Wood.

According to court documents obtained by Radaronline, the ruling came after Lopez failed to appear in court, resulting in an uncontested ruling in Wood’s favor.

“The responding party was given notice and an opportunity to be heard, as provided by the laws of the State of California. There are no calls, check-ins, or appearances by or on behalf of the Respondent,” the order read.

The restraining order is set to remain in effect until April 30, 2027.

The victory comes after a string of troubling incidents. In March, Wood was granted a temporary restraining order when Lopez and her friends allegedly trespassed onto his property, vandalizing his car in the process.

The incident escalated when Lopez reportedly entered another area of Wood’s property, prompting a concerned neighbor to contact the authorities. Subsequently, Yasmine was arrested by officers at the scene.

Wood recounted being instructed by the police to collect his son from the residence of Lopez’s friend. However, he encountered resistance upon arrival.

He asserted that the friend refused to give him son Kobe, but proceeded to make “allegations against”” and later distorted “the facts to the media to gain favor.”

Wood’s legal filings also detailed a previous instance in August 2023, where Lopez allegedly broke into his home and caused destruction to his belongings.

The series of incidents ultimately led Wood to pursue legal action, seeking both protection and primary custody of his son, Kobe.
