The proud parents have been on the college tour circuit with Zaya, 16, and it seems like the teenager has a pretty good handle on things. “I think she is so calm about it ’cause I think she knows exactly where she wants to go, but I think she’s humoring us with seeing what our country has to offer,” Union said.

“We’re stressed out. We’re stressed out about her being away from us… [Parents all have the] same nerves and anxieties about sending your babies away. It’s tough.”

Moreover, Zaya’s interest in astrobiology has left Union and Wade feeling a bit out of their depth. “She wants to major in astrobiology, so there’s only so much help we can offer, to be honest… I was a Sociology major, [so I’m like,] ‘Girl you’re on your own,'” Union joked.

In March, Dwyane gave fans a glimpse into their college tour adventures with an Instagram post from the University of Washington. The photos captured moments of exploration and excitement as the trio soaked in the campus vibes.

In the caption of the post,  the NBA alum could not contain his excitement, writing, “We’re in the College Visits season!!!”

And speaking of milestones, Zaya recently slayed at prom in a stunning all-black Miu Miu ensemble. The 16-year-old model shared a snapshot from the magical night on her Instagram with the simple caption, “went to prom.”

In addition to Zaya, Dwyane and Gabrielle share daughter Kaavia James,5, and Union is stepmom to Wade’s three kids Zaire, 21, Zaya, and Xavier, 10, from previous relationships. Wade is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, 21.
