A few weeks ago, it was revealed that country-singer Jimmie Allen had quietly welcomed twins with another woman amid his divorce from wife, Alexis Gale Allen.
Now, the 38-year-old is opening up in a new interview, clarifying exactly when his twins were conceived.
“[The twins have a] different mother — my friend Danielle. I’ve known Danielle for years. Way before I became ‘Jimmie Allen.’ And at the time that she got pregnant with the twins, I wasn’t with Lexi, and [Danielle] wasn’t with her husband,” Allen said in an interview with Kathie Lee Gifford.
“But it’s interesting just watching how life happens whether you plan it or whether you’re ready for it or not. So Danielle was pregnant first, because me and Lexi weren’t together when Danielle got pregnant. Twins were born first,” he added, revealing that daughter Aria and son Amari were born last June. “Then me and Lexi decided we wanted to try to work on [our relationship].”
About a month ago, Allen took to Instagram and posted images of all six of his children. In addition to Aria and Amari, Allen’s other children include: six children: son Aadyn, 9, from a previous relationship, and daughters Naomi, 4, and Zara, 2, and son, Cohen 5 months, with whom he shares with 28-year-old estranged wife Alexis.
In the interview, Allen stated that, in part, sharing the images of all of his children was an attempt to begin to set the record straight about his twins and their mother.
“I decided to post my twins on my Instagram, and it went everywhere. These articles come out, ‘Jimmie Allen Gets Married Superfan Pregnant.’ That couldn’t be farther from the truth. She’s not a superfan. She’s a friend. And she wasn’t with her husband and I wasn’t with my wife,” he said.
The “Make Me Want To” singer and Alexis were happily married in June of 2020. The couple dropped a double bombshell announcement in April of 2023, sharing that they were expecting Cohen and then stating that they were separating.
According to documents obtained by People Magazine, Allen officially filed for divorce from his wife on April 28, 2023. Alexis filed her own suite a few hours after. In their filings, Both Alexis and Allen cited, “irreconcilable differences,” as the reason that they were seeking to divorce.
