Isabella Strahan, daughter of Good Morning America host Michael Strahan, continues to put up one valiant fight amidst her cancer battle.
Earlier this week, the 19-year-old shared that she had to be hospitalized twice and needed an unexpected surgery after her first round of chemotherapy.
In the 11th installment of her YouTube series, Isabella said that, she had to be hospitalized after getting a fever.
“I’ve just been getting a lot of fevers. If you get a fever of 100.4 you have to come in,” she said, in the vlog.
While hospitalized the first go around, the teen said that she underwent her first blood transfusion and has become the “MRI queen”. After having her chemo port cleaned, she headed home; only to return hours later.
“I catfished everyone. We left the hospital after three or four days and now we’re back less than 12 hours later because I have a fever again,” she said. “I got a fever of 102 and had to come back in. So we’re trying to figure out what’s wrong but no one can find out what’s wrong.”
“This is the worst fever I think I’ve had. I don’t feel as horrible as I did the first time. I just have a really bad headache so I thought nothing of it and now we’re in the ER. I don’t feel great. I don’t feel horrible,” Isabella admitted to her followers. “I’ve felt worse but I don’t feel good. I feel like I can barely walk now.”
The model and college freshman ended her vlog by sharing with viewers that she had to head back into surgery to drain fluid from the back of her head. “I’ll be under anesthesia but not what I planned to do because I didn’t plan on coming back to the hospital,” Isabella concluded.
Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor in her cerebellum. Isabella underwent surgery in October of last year to remove the tumor. After successfully completing radiation treatments in January of this year, the teen began chemotherapy treatments towards the end of February.
Former NFL player, Michael Strahan, said in a previous interview that it has been therapeutic for Isabella to document and share her journey with others.
“I think, for her, so many people have reached out and said, ‘I’m glad you’re doing this,’ ‘Thank you for doing this,’ ‘This has really helped us,’ and all that support that she is getting from people she doesn’t know, on top of people that she does know, has kept her in a very positive space,” he said. “So thank you to everybody.”
In addition to Isabella, the former defensive end is also father to shares Sophia, Isabella’s twin sister, with his second wife, Jean Muggli. Strahan is also father two older children, 32-year-old Tanita and 29-year-old Michael Jr., with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins.
