If you were a fan of the first Inside Out movie, get ready for the sequel as the Inside Out 2 trailer is already setting viewership records and the movie hasn’t even hit theaters!
According to Deadline, just the trailer itself for the upcoming sequel has been a success for Disney and Pixar. The Inside Out 2 trailer “has had the biggest launch of any in the former studio’s history, unseating 2019’s Frozen 2 with an astounding 157 million views in just 24 hours.
On TikTok alone, “the trailer had a showing of 78M views.”
So, just what are fans of the world of emotions in for this go-around? Well, check out a brief synopsis of the journey through puberty below.
“The sequel brings viewers back into the mind of the now teenage Riley as her emotions try to keep up with her new feelings. Joining the band of conflicting emotions inside her head this time around is Anxiety, a frazzled, but lovable, orange emotion, voiced by Maya Hawke.”
Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter said in a statement that, “We are thrilled so many people have tuned in to check out the new trailer for Inside Out 2.”
Docter concluded, “We couldn’t be more grateful to see the kind of response the trailer has received so far. Thank you to all who have checked it out — we can’t wait for everyone to see the film when it comes to theaters next summer.”

Movie-goers were introduced to “Riley, a young girl confronting emotions including Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Tony Hale), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Liza Lapira), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) as she’s uprooted to San Francisco from the Midwest. Each emotion was memorably personified for the viewer, who could watch them clash inside Riley’s mind about how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.”
Inside Out 2 is slated for release this summer, on June 14, 2024.
