ME’ARAH O’NEAL SELECTED TO PLAY IN MCDONALD’S ALL AMERICAN GAMES

Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie Henderson’s daughter, Me’Arah O’Neal, has been selected to play at the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Games.

On Tuesday, Shaunie took to her Instagram to announce the exciting news, saying, “Super proud Mom Moment!!! @mearahoneal is a McDonald’s All American 2024!!!!!I’m so happy and proud of you! You worked so hard for this, you earned this spot. SHINE BRIGHT BABYGIRL!!!!”

Henderson also shared her daughter’s reaction upon hearing the news. Not only was Me’Arah overjoyed, but she also ran around her house after the announcement was made.

Expressing gratitude on her Instagram, the 17-year-old wrote, “God did. Grateful is an understatement.”

Me’Arah, a 6-foot-3 guard/forward out of Episcopal High School in Texas, is currently ranked 33rd nationally in the Class of 2024 by ESPN.

In 2023, she committed to playing women’s basketball for the Florida Gators instead of her father’s alma mater, LSU.

According to ESPN, “Being the daughter of Shaquille O’Neal is a heavy target to carry but O’Neal may have as much upside as any of the players named to this year’s McDonald’s All-American class. Kelly Finley is a fantastic coach for her to continue that growth at Florida.”

Together Shaquille O’Neal and his ex-wife, Shaunie, share four children: sons Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Me’arah. While all of the O’Neal kids have a passion for basketball,  Me’Arah stands out as the only one to achieve the prestigious McDonald’s All-American status.

Selected from a pool of 729 nominees by top analysts, prep scouts, media, and coaches, Me’Arah will showcase her skills in the 2024 McDonald’s All-Americans Game at the Toyota Center in Houston on April 2, airing on ESPN2/ESPN app at 6:30 p.m. ET. She will join Zach Randolph’s daughter, Mackenly Randolph, and other notables at the annual all-star game.
