21 Savage is giving fans a close look at his life in a new movie biopic called “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story.”
On Monday, the rapper released the trailer to the film featuring a cameo from his mom, and his two sons.
Alongside the announcement, Savage revealed that he would be launching his third solo album, “American Dream,” on January 12th.
Therefore, the trailer serves a dual purpose, acting as both a sneak peek into the upcoming biopic and a music video for a new song.
It delves into different stages of 21 Savage’s life, expertly portrayed by actors Donald Glover and Caleb McLaughlin.
McLaughlin kicks off the video, portraying a young Savage and shedding light on the rapper’s early struggles with bullying.
The narrative then transitions to Glover, taking on the role of the older 21 Savage as he enters the rap scene.
The storytelling promises an in-depth exploration of the Savage’s journey, from a challenging upbringing to his triumphs in the music industry.
21 Savage, real name Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was born in the U.K. to two British nationals with Caribbean origins.
His life took a significant turn when he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, with his mother at the age of seven as an undocumented immigrant.
This move marked the beginning of a journey filled with challenges, leading to a period of uncertainty in 2019 when he was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The incident led to a widespread “Free 21 Savage” campaign, shedding light on the strict U.S. immigration policies of that time.
While much of 21 Savage’s life is in the spotlight, details about his family have remained relatively private.
However, it’s widely known that the artist is married to Keyanna Joseph and they share three kids together.
