DDG and Halle Bailey revealed on Instagram late Saturday that they had welcomed their first child together. Shortly after, DDG took to Youtube to reflect on the experience of being a father to a newborn baby.
In his vlog, he shared that he and the Little Mermaid star welcomed their son, Halo, in December and have been relishing the early days of parenthood.
“I’m just professional dad. She’s a professional mom and we’re doing great and you know we got money and thought about getting a night nurse, but don’t even need one,” he said.
While DDG claims that he and Halle “don’t plan on showing [their baby’s] face”, he did promise to provide fans with regular updates.

On Halle Bailey as a mom: “I wouldn’t have chose no other person in the world to have a child with. We learning she’s a great mom. It’s crazy. She’s amazing.”
On loving his son: “I love him so much and we barely know each other, but i just love him so much. Ever since i had him, i have been hit with a new fond maturity. I don’t know what it is, but i feel grown.”
On his son’s appearance: “He’s great-looking. Think of a handsome kid, handsome child, newborn by the way. No features ain’t even fully developed. Just think about it, think about the most handsomest kid in the world, blend me and her looks together, but think of him as being the best features of us possible. That’s what he looks like. He’s a beautiful baby and a healthy baby.”
On changing diapers: “I change his diaper and its fun. It’s like a video game at this point. And that’s when you genuinely know you love someone. Being a new dad, it’s been a great experience. It’s been very, very fun.”
On finding a new purpose: “I feel like I found a whole new purpose in life. I feel like a different type of motivation right now. Like, my motivation is through the roof. I’m like, ‘Man, I don’t ever want my kid to ever want for nothing. I don’t ever want him to even think about asking for anything. He already got it, you feel me?'”
On son’s birth: “I seen him come out. I watched the whole thing I was honestly scared cuz you know I was like man I don’t really want to see this you feel me, but I’m like damn at the same time bro like I don’t plan on having a a million kids you feel me? Maybe down the line or you know maybe one or two more but like I’m probably not going to see this again so I went down there and I looked it was the craziest [ __ ] I ever seen in my life bro.”
