Did Nelly “seal the deal” by getting Ashanti pregnant? That’s what the couple would have fans believe after they sparked pregnancy rumors at Nelly’s 9th annual Black & White Ball on December 3, 2023.
It all started when producer Polow Da Don grabbed the mic and playfully shouted, “Seal the deal!” prompting Nelly to affectionately rub his girlfriend’s belly. The crowd went wild as Ashanti reciprocated the gesture, fueling rumors that the couple might be expecting a little one.
“If Ashanti is pregnant, ima cry real tears of joy for my girl..even if she’s not, i’m still so happy happy that i could be a possibility for her renewed love,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another fan playfully remarked, “Nelly got Ashanti pregnant after 26 years!”
“Ashanti better not be pregnant by Nelly after allowing him to spin the block 10 years later. You get the ring first after that many years,” cautioned another person.
The news comes just weeks after Nelly hinted at the possibility of getting Ashanti pregnant in response to a fan’s comment on social media. Last month, a fan took to Nelly’s social media, urging him to “Get her pregnant @nelly [laughing emoji] TONIGHT.” Surprisingly, Nelly didn’t shy away from the suggestion, responding, “I’m on it.”
Nelly and Ashanti’s love story has seen its fair share of ups and downs. The couple first started dating in 2003 and had an on-and-off relationship for over a decade. In 2013, the fairy tale came to an end with Ashanti expressing feelings of betrayal. However in September 2023, amidst widespread speculation, the duo confirmed their rekindled romance.
Nelly’s Black and White Ball, a fixture from 2006 to 2016, returned to its glamorous roots at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. Beyond the glitz, this charity event served a noble cause, raising funds for Make-A-Wish-Missouri and providing scholarships to local students to attend HBCU Harris-Stowe State University.
