Mariah Carey‘s 12-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, accomplished an impressive feat at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. Not only did they perform alongside their legendary mother on stage, but they also had the honor of presenting her with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.
“Congratulations, Mom!” Moroccan and Monroe excitedly exclaimed during their presentation as they handed their mother her trophy.
Beaming with pride at the moment, Carey responded, “Thank you babies! Thank you so much. I couldn’t ask for better presenters than Roc and Roe.”
The Billboard Chart Achievement Award was presented to the superstar songstress for her chart-topping hit song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
The classic Christmas tune, that everyone uses to usher in the holidays, has climbed to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 every year since 2019. The song has spent a total of 12 weeks in the position overall.
In addition to her children presenting her with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, it was indeed a “family affair” as the twins joined their mother on stage to perform.
And of course the “Emotions” singer would not have it any other way as she told Access in an exclusive interview that she “… [loves] seeing them [step] into this performance space…”
“I love it. I love seeing them stepping into this performance space, this music space, and the fact that they’re eager to do it, that’s on them,” she told the popular entertainment news outlet.
Carey continued saying that, “I never say ‘you guys gotta do this,’ you know? It’s whatever they want to do and they’re rehearsing for it and going for it and really working hard, so that’s impressive to me.”
Carey shares Monroe and Moroccan with ex-husband, multi-faceted entertainer, Nick Cannon.
Congratulations, Mariah! We cannot think of anyone that deserves this honor more.
