BRONNY JAMES SITS OUT FOR USC SEASON OPENER

Although on October 19, the USC star recruit danced and celebrated with his team as they kicked-off another basketball season with their annual “Trojan HoopLA,” Bronny James did not take the floor for the USC season opener. The 19-year-old was not available to play with his team as the Trojans went on to defeat Kansas State 89-69 on November 6.

If you remember, the young athlete suffered a cardiac arrest in July of this year during practice with his new team. The teen was officially diagnosed with “an anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect.”

Yet, despite not playing in the game, because he has not yet been medically cleared to play, James was definitely present on the sidelines, cheering his team on to victory.

Despite not participating in the season opener, there is still hope that the freshman player will get the opportunity to hit the court this season. His father, famed Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James, told reporters after his own game against the Miami Heat that everything with his son’s health journey is “on the up and up.”

LeBron James continued saying that Bronny is scheduled for a check-up later this month and that, if all goes well, he could return to practice.

Savannah James and her youngest son Bryce were also on hand to celebrate and cheer on the Trojans in their sold out season opener.

During halftime of the game, the James family matriarch also gave reporters not only an update on her eldest son’s health status, but why she present at the game as well.

“It’s very important to us to show support to all of the kids, and obviously Bronny is not playing tonight, but we wanted to show support to the rest of the young men who have worked all summer to get ready for this point,” Savannah told the to the Associated Press. “We know Bronny is anxious to play, but he will have his comeback soon and then we’ll be here to actually watch him on the floor. But we’re a USC family and we want to make sure that we’re here to support Bronny, as well as the entire team.”

We all hope to see Bronny healthy and back on the court soon.

Congratulations, Trojans on your first win! We cannot wait to see more exiting moments throughout the season.
