North West, the first-born child of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has captured the hearts of many with her charisma, charm, and candidness. In her latest interview with I-D magazine, the 10-year-old talks her personal style, ambitions, and what sets her apart as a unique individual. Check out the highlights below!
A Musical Muse
When asked about her favorite song, North West didn’t hesitate to name “Through the Wire” by her father, Kanye West. Clearly, music runs in the family, and North’s love for singing and performing shines through.
North’s preference for performing over singing seems to be an inherited trait, but she proudly claims the performing gene as mostly her own, with “a little bit of my dad.”
An Icon in the Making
North West has an impeccable sense of style, and when asked about her style icon, she confidently replies, “Me.” One of North’s favorite wardrobe pieces is a Michael Jackson jacket that her mom gifted her for Christmas.
Being in the spotlight from an early age, North is no stranger to having her picture taken. She enjoys it when she wants to, but not by the paparazzi.
If North Were an Animal…
North’s answer to what animal she’d like to be is both humorous and clever. She’d choose to be a mosquito, not to annoy others but to tell them to leave her alone “Because I’m allergic to them and I can tell them all to leave me alone.”
Three Words to Describe Herself
When asked to describe herself in three words, North West confidently declares, “The Best Ever.”
According to North, the best thing about being herself is everything. “I get to play basketball. Everything. I got to go to Halloween Horror Nights.”
Artistic Aspirations
North West has a passion for art, particularly painting. She enjoys creating various artworks, except for helicopters, which she finds challenging due to their intricate details. “Helicopters are so hard because they have all these little lines,” she said.
In addition to her love for art, North has a variety of other hobbies, including shopping for people and playing basketball, which she considers a lifestyle rather than a hobby.
Favorite Memory
North’s favorite memory is when she first tried playing basketball, despite being initially bad at it. Her journey from being a beginner to improving significantly has left a lasting impression on her.
“When I first tried basketball, because I was so bad. So I know those memories and I’m like, ‘Ooh, now I’m so good’, I got so much better.”
Dreaming of the Future
North West has big dreams for her future. She aspires to be a basketball player and a rapper, with plans to pursue art on the side.
“A basketball player, a rapper, um… Well, when I was seven, I wanted to be a boxer. But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side.”
She even has ambitions of walking dogs to earn money for art supplies. Furthermore, she hopes to own her parents’ businesses, Yeezy and SKIMS, and become a successful business owner.
“When I’m, like, thirteen, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell. Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner.”
