“Honored to be in that new @mambamambacitasports drip,” Kiyan told his social media followers. La La took to the comments section of her son’s post to write, “What an honor.”
Mambacita was created by Vanessa Bryant to honor her late daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, who died alongside her father, Kobe Bryant, in a helicopter accident in 2020. The clothing brand launched in 2021 with the full support of the NBA and other celebrities.
Vanessa reflected on her life after losing her husband and second-eldest daughter during an interview with PEOPLE. “This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward,” Bryant shared with the magazine. “Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again,” the celebrity mom said. “But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”
Vanessa has used much of her energy to continue the legacy of her late husband. “Kobe and Gigi motivate me to keep going,” Bryant told the press. “They inspire me to try harder and be better every day. Their love is unconditional and they motivate me in so many different ways.”
Proceeds from the Mambacita clothing line go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. The nonprofit is “dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports.”
