Tristan Thompson has been living with Khloe Kardashian following his mother’s tragic passing, while his own home underwent extensive construction and renovation. Now, as the construction nears completion, the time has come for Tristan to move out. For Khloe, this is a bittersweet moment. Her primary concern is the potential impact on her daughter, True.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians, the Good American co-founder got candid about her feelings and concerns, regarding Thompson moving back to his home.
“Tristan is moving out this week and it is bittersweet. My biggest fear initially is about True. Tatum’s too young to know what’s going on, but True, is this gonna f— her up?” she expressed.
The 39-year-old continued, “That she’s, basically to her memory, has never remembered her dad living with her. And now, all of a sudden, he’s living with her and puts her to bed every night and she has this great relationship that I don’t want to do anything that’s going to be damaging to her.”
“I guess it’s destined that parents are gonna screw up their kids at some point but I want to try to avoid screwing up my daughter as long as possible.”
Tristan Thompson, on his part, has shown a desire to make meaningful changes in his life, especially for the sake of his children. He recently opened up about his journey towards personal growth and accountability.
“I never had to hold myself accountable. We’re taught, ‘Be the man, do what you please, bros before hoes …’,” Thompson opened up to Kardashian at the time. “You gotta just be your own man and don’t care what people think and don’t feel like you have to get validation from others.”
Thompson continued opening up to Kardashian as his thoughts turned to his two eldest children, six-year-old Prince Oliver and True.
“True is understanding stuff and Prince understands things where they go to school and they have classmates. The last thing I ever want them to do is feel embarrassed that I’m their father,” he said.
Thompson concluded, “I think going down this journey that I’ve been on, especially with losing my mom, I always ask myself, ‘Why do certain things to hurt certain people?’”
Thompson shares True and one-year-old Tatum Thompson with Kardashian. In addition to Tatum, he also has another one-year-old son, Theo with Maralee Nichols. Thompson also shares his son Prince Oliver with Jordan Craig.
