HGTV’s Egypt Sherrod recently revealed that her four-year-old daughter, Harper, had adenoid removal surgery.
Less than 24-hours ago, the Married to Real Estate reality star posted on Instagram, a video of her daughter headed into surgery.
She started off her post by saying, “Today we are blessed.” She continued, “Harper has been having trouble breathing at night and Mike and I have been taking turns holding her while sleeping in a chair so she can be upright and get air. It’s been going on for 3 months. Finally today was her adenoids removal surgery and I am so proud of my baby. She was brave and although nervous, never freaked out. All is well and she is home with me resting. But today my 4 year old is my SHERO! Go Harper Bean.”
The 46-year-old shares Harper with husband Mike Jackson. In addition to Harper, the couple also share 11-year-old daughter Kendall and 21-year-old daughter Simone. (Simone is Jackson’s daughter from a previous relationship.)
For any parent, watching their children grow is hard. In an episode of the reality show earlier this year, on Harper’s first day of school, Sherrod admitted that for her, it has been extremely challenging not to show “sign(s) of being sad”.
“We can’t show any sign of being sad, no side of anything but happy faces because this is a big benchmark for her. Mommy’s just struggling on the inside.”
Sherrod continued admitting that watching her children grow seems like it is “all moving way too fast.”
So, just how did Harper’s parents Egypt and Mike meet?
Well, believe it or not, they met flipping houses! At the time, they pair were both working in radio and real estate at the same time. According to Distractify, when Egypt’s mentor gave her a contractor referral when she was flipping a house in Jersey, the contractor was Mike. Since 2004, the pair have been happily ever after since.
We hope and pray that Harper continues to recuperate form her surgery and bounces back soon.
